Hello,
I am male, aged 65 years. About a year ago, I retired from an expatriate posting in the Middle East, and am currently living in my home town, Kochi, in India's Kerala State.
While there is nothing I could find exciting about living a retired life, I really do enjoy the relaxation and easy style of life now, far removed from the pressures of my previous work-day life. I live in a coastal city, and around me, there is so much to see and enjoy in this verdant, natural setting. Currently we are seeing the end of the monsoon season, with the rains slowly retreating, and the occasional warm sun peeping out from the canopy of clouds. The temperature still stays in the low 30C's, making the ambiance very pleasant. Kochi, is on the tourist map, and there are very many European and American tourists, who throng the many places of historical interest, and many who are interested in holistic healing, visit Ayurvedic spas.
Having been posted away from home for nearly 40 years, many of my former friends, have moved on, leaving a large vacuum, in the city. Those that remain, are very active in many fields, and I have ample opportunity to indulge in my pastime of singing in a church choir, with them.
My family, is the arch typical nuclear one, with my wife and I having only two offspring. Both of whom, now live and work abroad, happily engaged in their own activities. We are fortunate, to live near the backwaters, and it is very refreshing to view the water and the accompanying greenery, from our living room.
